Does SteelEye do Windows?

I often find that SteelEye is thought of as solely a Linux company.  While it's true that we started out with a focus on Linux, and (if I may say so myself) we produce the gold-standard for Linux HA clustering, SteelEye today has very much a dual-OS strategy. In fact, if I look at the allocation of our engineering resources today, I see that we have a few more folks building Windows products than we do Linux products.  We move the engineers back and forth between the platforms as development needs dictate.  It's an advantage of having a senior team - most of them can move between OS platforms seamlessly.

SteelEye has just received recognition of our Windows prowess from Microsoft by our being awarded the “Software/ISV Solutions Competency”. This recognition demonstrates “Proven competency in developing and marketing packaged software solutions based on Microsoft technologies.”  This was awarded as the result of our products being independently verified by Microsoft and based on recommendations from our resellers/customers.

We are seeing more and more of our customers who run both Linux and Windows within their IT shop. One of LifeKeeper's competitive advantages is its ability to manage availability of both Linux and Windows applications and to do this from a single console.  As long as our customers need to protect both OSes, we'll have a dual-platform strategy.
