LifeKeper for Linux v6 ARK updates

SteelEye is pleased to announce the immediate general availability (GA) of several LifeKeeper for Linux Application Recovery Kits.

ClearCase ARK v6

• Provides support for ClearCase v7
• Provides support for ClearCase multi-site for non-managed synchronization of replicated VOBs

HDLM ARK v6

• New Recovery Kit supporting Hitachi Dynamic Link Manager (HDLM) devices

SAP ARK v6

• Support for SAP NetWeaver 2004s (Web Application Server 7.00)

Oracle ARK v5.1.2

• Support for multiple Oracle listeners

LifeKeeper for Windows v5.3.1

SteelEye is pleased to announce the immediate general availability (GA) of SteelEye Data Replication version 5.3.1.

A main feature of the v5.3.1 release is the ability to pause and unlock the mirror target for read/write access when running on a Windows 2003 system.  This feature allows temporary read/write access to the TARGET volume, enabling users and applications to run various utilities and reports against the TARGET data.

InfoWorld review of LifeKeeper for Exchange

InfoWorld has today published a review of five tools to provide Exchange disaster recovery. 

LifeKeeper for Exchange is compared directly against NeverFail for Exchange with the reviewer noting:

LifeKeeper offers features that Neverfail doesn’t, and at a lower price. LifeKeeper’s setup is a little more complex than Neverfail’s, but this is partly because of the additional features. One interesting extra is the ability to fail over from a physical to a virtual server, or vice versa, although most admins will not be comfortable running mail servers in a virtual environment just yet. Unless you already have an investment in other Neverfail clustering technologies, LifeKeeper is a better deal.
