LifeKeeper for Linux v6 Update 1 released today
Keeping up the pace set by the Windows team with their recent product announcement, we today released a major product update - SteelEye LifeKeeper for Linux v6 Update 1.
LifeKeeper for Linux v6 Update 1 includes any changes made since the release of v6 in August 2006. These changes include:
- Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 Update 8 on x86, AMD64/EM64T, and pSeries
- Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 Update 4 on x86, AMD64/EM64T, and IBM POWER
- Support for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 on x86, AMD64/EM64T, and IBM POWER
- IP Kit enhancements
- Option of using a list of ping addresses for IP health checks, rather than the default broadcast ping mechanism
- Ability to specify that a virtual IP address should be the source address for outgoing network packets
- Certified running on IBM System i (iSeries) servers with Linux LPARs
- GUI updated to include context-sensitive functions, configurability and extensibility features
- SteelEye Data Replication
- Support for mirroring up to 7 mirror targets
- This support is fully integrated with LifeKeeper's cascading failover capability, providing 8-way failover of SDR-mirrored storage and any associated applications
- HDLM Recovery Kit - New recovery kit to provide support for Hitachi HiCommand Dynamic Link Manager (HDLM) devices
- ClearCase Recovery Kit
- Support for ClearCase v7
- Support for ClearCase multi-site for non-managed synchronization of replicated VOBs
- Validation testing to achieve Ready for IBM Rational software certification
- SAP Recovery Kit - Support for SAP NetWeaver 2004s (Web Application Server 7.00)
- VMware Virtual Machine Recovery Kit
- Support for VMware ESX Server 3.0
- Support for VMware Server 1.0 (on a Linux Host OS)
- PowerPath Recovery Kit - Support for PowerPath 5.0
- LifeKeeper Data Replication v4 - Support for Adaptec i2o RAID devices
- PostgreSQL Recovery Kit - Support for PostgreSQL v8.2.1
