SteelEye Delivers Industry's First Disaster Recovery Solution for XenServer VMs
Virtualization continues to rapidly gain presence within enterprise data centers with business-critical applications increasingly being run from within virtual machines. Protecting these VMs against downtime is vital. We have been working with Citrix and a few of their customers for the last several months on development of a real-time replication solution for XneServer VMs.
Today, we announced the immediate availability (GA) of the SteelEye Protection Suite for Citrix XenServer.
The SteelEye Protection Suite (SPS) for Citrix XenServer version 6.3 has the following features:
· Provides disaster recovery protection for running XenServer virtual machines
· Replication is provided by SteelEye Data Replication and LifeKeeper
· Allows normal migration of virtual machines (XenMotion) in a resource pool while maintaining disaster protection
· Selective replication of virtual machines – only replicate the system critical to your business
· Use XenCenter for normal virtualization operations; SPS for XenServer works in the background
· New command line utilities for managing virtual machines at the disaster recovery site
· Support for XenServer Standard, Enterprise, and Platinum editions
· Pricing model is per physical host and is consistent with Citrix pricing model
· Time Limited licenses available for virtual machine migration (pool to pool)
